Clubs and Support Groups
The clubs and support groups at Cascade Plaza provide opportunities for companionship, community service, and lively discussion.

Friendly Neighbors Club
Friendly Neighbors Club members stay active in the community by dedicating their time and companionship to those in need. On the Cascade campus, members read to residents at Cascade Vista, celebrate birthdays and visit one-on-one. In the Redmond community, FNC members volunteer their services for a variety of local needs.

Support Group
Coping with the challenges of aging can be difficult. Fortunately, we are not alone. The Plaza's Support Group provides inspiration, comfort, and valuable information to help its members and their loved ones through the hard times. The group meets every Monday and often includes guest speakers. Topics include depression, Alzheimer's, memory loss, and the challenges of making new friends.

Literary Hour
One of the most popular activities at the Plaza is the Saturday afternoon Literary Hour. Hosted by Lee Sargent for more than ten years, the Literary Hour explores a new topic in depth each week. Whether discussing a new book or a timeless theme, participants enjoy the depth of Lee's knowledge and the vitality of his presentations.

Separate-but-Together
The Separate-but-Together couples club brings together Plaza residents who have loved ones receiving convalescent care at the Plaza's sister facility, Cascade Vista. Members find support and companionship, caring for each other in difficult times, and celebrating friendship with special activities and evenings out on the town.

Food Committee
The apple crisp was wonderful, but...what about putting peach crisp on the menu? That was one of the many suggestions to come up recently at a Food Committee meeting. The committee brings residents and the kitchen staff together every month for input on likes, dislikes, and new ideas. The peach crisp, by the way, was a big hit.

Block Meeting
Resident representatives meet regularly with Plaza staff to discuss general issues and areas of concern—everything from housing issues, ideas for the common areas, neighbors, or just life in general. It's a great forum for great ideas.
