Live Life to the Fullest
painting From high tea to tai chi, Plaza residents enjoy a tremendous variety of activities that are stimulating, enriching, and just plain fun. "I encourage residents to live life to the fullest," says Nicole Babick-Akishin. As Director of Recreation Services, Nicole works hard to keep the Plaza's busy calendar filled with activities to satisfy every interest.

Friendly competition
Ever play croquet in the winter? Some of our residents had so much fun playing croquet during the summer months, they decided to organize an indoor tournament when the weather turned cold. Now the tournament—complete with prizes—is a regular activity at the Plaza. Other popular activities allowing for a little friendly competition include:

  • Billiards and Popcorn
  • Trivia and Lemonade
  • Board Game Hour
  • Bingo
  • Bridge
  • Uno
  • Pok-Keno
  • Penny Ante
  • Dominoes

The joy of music
With so many talented musicians living at Cascade Plaza, it's no wonder that much of our activities schedule is dedicated to the joy of music. Pianist Bertie Johnson leads our Sing-Alongs, featuring old-time favorites and new requests. Cal Beamer keeps us entertained with Sunday Morning Piano and live music during Happy Hour every Friday. There are dances throughout the year, concerts by local bands and choirs, and special music to liven up every holiday. Plaza favorites include:

  • Sing-Alongs
  • Sunday Morning Piano
  • Senior Songfest
  • Piano recitals
  • Guest performers
  • Special concerts

Exercise
Residents keep fit with yoga, tai chi, and daily morning exercises. It's all part of the Plaza's individualized wellness program. Read more.

Happy Hour
Every Friday afternoon, Plaza residents wind down from a busy week with Happy Hour. Whether you prefer wine, mixed drinks, or non-alcoholic specialties like Shirley Temples, Happy Hour is the perfect opportunity to relax and socialize. Happy Hour includes snacks and live music with Cal Beamer on piano.
